March Break Sanity Savers

Just because you aren’t heading south or hitting the slopes, doesn’t mean that you and your family shouldn’t make some great memories together. And even if you are going away, we bet there is still time before or after to get in a visit to GlowZone 360…Attractions throughout the GTA are gearing up to welcome you and ensuring your family has a great time. GlowZone is no exception. We certainly hope that you have us on your March Break itinerary. We are sure you do, and as a thank you, here are some tips to make the best of your time together this March Break. Please feel free to share with your friends and family!

1) Check the hours.

Many attractions will have extended hours during March Break. We do.

Friday March 10: 10am – 12:30am
Saturday March 11: 10am – 12:30am
Sunday March 12: 10am – 11pm
Monday March 13: 10am – 11pm
Tuesday March 14: 10am – 11pm
Wednesday March 15: 10am – 11pm
Thursday March 16: 10am – 11pm
Friday March 17: 10am – 12:30am
Saturday March 18: 10am – 12:30am
Sunday March 19: 10am – 9pm

Tip: If you are really crowd adverse, plan on visiting right when the attraction opens, over dinner or later in the evening. However, keep in mind that we are staffed up all day long to make your experience very enjoyable.

2) Make reservations where possible.

Just because it is March Break, doesn’t mean that you should have to wait. At GlowZone, you can call ahead to reserve your tee time and laser tag game time. All you have to do is call us at 905-497-4569 and we will book you in. Then you just have to arrive 10-15 minutes before your reservation time to get checked in. Other attractions like the Ripley’s Aquarium offer the same opportunities. Take advantage of them!

3) Don’t let the weather stop you

At GlowZone 360, great weather is guaranteed in our 15,000 square foot facility. But not all attractions have that luxury. When making your daily plans, remember that humans are fairly waterproof and weather resistant. Don’t shy away from outdoor experiences on wet or cold days. You will find outdoor attractions less crowded but just as much fun as on sunny days. By the same token, don’t feel guilty playing indoors on nice days. GlowZone is just as much fun on a sunny warm day as it is on a cold rainy/snowy one. And an ice cream or slushie goes down great when the weather is nice…

4) Spread out the fun

Even if you have to work during March Break, you can still do things as a family throughout the week. The great thing about many attractions, including GlowZone 360, is that they only take a couple of hours and are a great way to break up the day without wiping everybody out. The March Break visitor trend is that every day is busier than the previous because parents wait until the end of March Break to do things as a family. By spreading out the activities, even coming to play in the evening if you are still working during the week, your family will have just as much fun and you, as parents won’t feel the pressure to do it all in one shot.

5) Look for Value

6) Have Fun

As parents, we often forget to look at things through our kids eyes. Kids don’t see “crowds”. They see that the place I took them to must be cool because so many other people are there. They don’t hear “noise”. They hear excitement. They don’t feel “stressed”. They feel the joy of doing something fun and different with the people that they love. When you head out to do various things with your family this March Break, remember that the real fun comes from who are are with.

Our family had a rare free evening last night. No hockey. No lacrosse. No homework. No place to be. At dinner, I told the boys what they wanted to do, expecting that it would be disappearing to the basement to play video games and watch YouTube. Instead, one of them asked if I would like to play cards with him and when I said sure, the other two decided to join in.

We played for almost two hours, talking, laughing and accusing each other of cheating. They went up to bed without argument, having enjoyed an evening of un-programmed family time. As I sat to write this, I reflected on the importance of doing fun, spontaneous things with family and friends to keep that connection and remind ourselves what’s really important.

One of the reasons we built GlowZone 360 is we honestly believe there is value getting out with loved ones, be it family or friends, to do something fun, active and interactive. Whether a parent kicking their teenagers butt in mini-golf, a sniper tagging their best friends over and over again in Arena X laser tag or siblings going head to head in the arcade, we see the smiles, hear the fun-filled smack talk and witness the re-connections being made every day.

Happy Birthday to Us!!

What an incredible first year of operations! It’s hard to believe that just over a year ago this is what our 15,000 square foot warehouse space looked like.

One year ago last week, GlowZone 360 opened its doors to the public and we have never looked back. In our first year, we were privileged enough to host over 1,000 parties and 200 groups. We have had countless groups of friends and families challenge each other, playing for bragging rights or making the stakes more interesting.

We took, and continue to take, your feedback seriously. We changed our closing time on Friday and Saturday evenings to accommodate all of the night hawks in town. We opened early on PD days to help parents keep their sanity. We created Twice the Ticket Tuesdays where all games (except the instant prize ones) are half price. And we got seating!!!

We are continuing our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel, allowing all Bigs bring their Littles in to experience some bonding over mini-golf and laser tag. Last year hundreds of Bigs and Littles took advantage of the offer and we hope that even more come this year.

We also plan on doing a food drive this December. Last year we tried to bury Mo in non-perishables. This year, we’d like to bury all four partners.

Our success is because of you. You are the ones that have taken a chance on us and come to visit. You are the ones that have told your friends and family about us. You are the ones that have introduced GlowZone 360 to your friends when you invite them to your parties. You are the ones that make coming to work each day so much fun.

On team would like to thank you for making our first year so successful. Our promise to is to keep the place looking great and make sure you have a great experience while visiting. Whether hosting a kids party, coming with your buddy’s after work, spending some family time together or making a great impression on a date, you’ll have a great time at GlowZone 360.
